The Murder of Children in Minneapolis

This week a former want-to-be transgender, who committed to attempting to change sex from male to female and then later regretted it, because of the futility of becoming someone he wasn’t, attempted to end his life with suicide by mass shooting of a Roman Catholic elementary school in Minneapolis through the stained glass windows of its religious service marking the start of its year. He just opened fire from the outside of the building, murdering two little children and wounding eighteen. He said he hated children, which could tie to their unfiltered and reasonable responses to his weirdness. This kind of event has become all too normal in our culture and our nation.

A human perspective which fathers transgenderism suggests that morality is a mere human construct. The world is a place of unrelenting indifference and without inherent meaning, just a bleak, uncaring and impersonal universe. The lives of these children could and did become worthless, even worse, to someone who rejects the truth that God created every person in His own image.

Solomon writes in Ecclesiastes of life under the sun without a divine perspective, that it is vanity and vexation of spirit. And then an empty sinner without the hope of redemption has no compunction to stop short of horrific violence against the near most defenseless individuals, and kills them with the same sensitivity as stepping on an ant on a sidewalk. Some, also not believing in any divine plan or purpose, would call it an act of defiance against his inevitable extinction. Others see it as a cause for the abolition of fire arms.

A rejection of God and His Word produces a culture that offers little consolation for a lost soul without love and fulfillment. In a sin-cursed world, this reality demands that those with sincere faith and with understanding of the truth of scripture prepare for their own protection and safety.
